Ambient Signal is developed and published by Ravensnest Solutions LLC, operating as Ravensnest. This privacy policy explains how the app handles information on your device.

Microphone data is processed on your device. There is no account, no cloud, no tracking, and no analytics. Investigation functionality works offline.

Microphone

Ambient Signal uses the device microphone to capture short environmental audio samples. Audio is processed locally on the device. The microphone sample is used to generate the deterministic dictionary selection. The app does not use speech recognition or AI interpretation of spoken content.

Source audio retention

Source audio is not retained by default. You may explicitly enable source-audio retention in the app. When enabled, retained recordings remain on your device. You may replay or delete retained source audio. Deleting retained source audio does not remove the generated response or session record associated with that sample. Ambient Signal does not automatically upload retained audio.

Session data

Session data is stored locally on your device. Depending on how you use the app, this may include:

• Session name or type
• Timestamps
• Questions or context you enter
• Generated dictionary responses
• Sample hashes
• Notes
• Algorithm and dictionary provenance
• Retained source audio when that option is enabled

Exports

You may explicitly export or share reports or session data. Any sharing occurs only when you initiate it using platform sharing mechanisms. Once you share data with another app or service, that destination's privacy practices apply.

Network

Core investigation functionality does not require network access, and microphone and session processing are local. Ambient Signal is designed to operate offline for investigations. If future store purchase or restore functionality uses Google Play or Apple services, those platform interactions may require network access when you use them.

Third parties

Ambient Signal does not include advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs.

Purchases

If in-app purchases are added in the future, billing would be handled through the relevant app store. Any purchase-related data would be subject to that store's policies and your account settings there.

Data deletion

You can delete entire sessions and retained source audio within the app. Deleting the app may remove locally stored application data according to your operating system's behavior.

Children

Ambient Signal is not directed at children under 13, and no account registration is required to use the app.

Security

Data handled by Ambient Signal remains on your device under normal use. No method of electronic storage is completely secure, and local device security also depends on your device settings and physical access controls.
